Change Taskforce
 
Our latest taskforce, created in 2007,
aims to build Melbourne’s capacity in adapting to the key impacts of climate change.

  Higher Education Taskforce  A taskforce set up in 2006 to promote Melbourne as a leading university city. Co-Chairmen: Mr David Miles AM, & Mr. Michael Andrew, Chairman of Partners, KPMG 
    
  Transport Taskforce  Established in 2004 to address the rising economic and lifestyle costs of congestion, and gather input for its submission to the East-West Needs Assessment chaired by Sir Rod Eddington. Co-Chairmen: Mr Roger Poole, Executive Chairman, Bate Smart & Mr Russell Caplan, Chairman, Shell Australia 
    
  Future Focus Group   A challenging and cost-effective
leadership program developed in 1995,
the Future Focus Group enables Members to identify, develop and nurture their high-potential employees while leaving a positive, tangible legacy for Melbourne’s community.

  BioMelbourne Network   A network initiated by the Committee in
2001 and later spun off which connects Victoria's biotechnology industry, business and government while promoting the capabilities of the industry on a global basis. 
 
    
Enhancing liveability  Moving Galleries   Formerly a Future Focus Group project, Moving Galleries became a Committee-led project in 2007 and is designed to move Melbourne through art by placing a travelling exhibition of art and poetry on suburban trains.  Project Manager: Ms Danielle Johnston & Project Coordinator: Ms Kate Robertson 
    
  Melbourne Prize &
Melbourne Prize Trust
 
Born out of a Future Focus Group project developed in 1998-1999, the annual Melbourne Prize recognises and rewards excellence and talent through one of Australia’s richest arts prizes. Director: Mr Simon H. Warrender 
    
  Melbourne Cares  Initiated by the Committee and then
spun off in 2005, Melbourne Cares sets out to achieve greater social cohesion in Melbourne by developing and promoting world’s-best practice in corporate social innovation.

  UN Global Compact –
Cities Programme
 
Initiated in 2002 to serve as the Melbourne-based International Secretariat of the UN Global Compact Cities Program, the Cities Program leads an international UN urban program currently involving 14 cities around the world. Manager: Ms Stephanie McCarthy
