To commit to living in Melbourne, having been born and raised in the Emerald City was, perhaps, an unexpected decision. Stints in the City of Churches and BrisVegas helped discover worlds beyond the Emerald City. “Marvellous Melbourne”, however, has been a revelation. Melbourne combines the culture, produce, access, thought, creativity and vibrancy yearned for, in differing degrees, in the aforesaid homes. Melbourne brings together the best of what our family most appreciated elsewhere. We feel a balance here. Even after BrisVegas, Melbourne’s maligned weather is a delight. There are four seasons! Spring is a time of carnival. Summer produces a dry, not enervating, heat. Autumn is a time of botanic wonder. In winter the population blossoms into colourful tribes. These tribes do not go completely dormant during summer. We have yet to join a tribe but revel in the passion and energy each one displays.

Nature’s sensory stimulation is echoed by an adventurous architecture. Despite the odd challenging juxtaposition, there is an overall harmony of design. Furthermore, it is easy to get around to different centres.
There is a buzzing conversation of possibility amongst the business community. The Committee for Melbourne is an exemplar of such conversation.
The philanthropy and social concern evidenced by Melburnians is valued by Vision Australia as we work toward an inclusive world for people who are blind or vision impaired.
Melbourne is the place my family wishes to stay. We look forward to our children developing here. They are choosing their tribe.
